June 2006

And the Ranch House and the Saddle Room with the Workshop hiding behind both. Yep, what a scene I get every time I walk down the sidewalk from the garage to the house. Especially after a drive home from work. As I look around, I cannot believe that of all the places to love, there is not a better place to love than the Farm. And it is because the Farm always loves you back.

You see, I don't mind a bit driving 60,000 plus miles a year as long as I can come home to the Farm every night. My feelings are always the same. As soon as I get in the car and head home, my heart is always happy because I know what I will find at the end of the road.

And by stepping just around the corner I can also see the cabin (with Dawson's "G" room upstairs) and the Wishing Well of course......and Oh, who can forget the swing that is just waiting for the grandkids to show up.

Yep, and from the same sidewalk I can see Grandad's tropy, the Barn. It was made from the left overs of three old barns I found here in the county that I had to buy, tare down and haul home. Some of the materials also came from the old caved in barn that was here when we bought the place.

And over my shoulder I can look down and see the beauty and feel the peace of the Farm.

From the sidewalk I can see all kinds of things to love.......The flower beds, the big front porch and Mom's birdhouse to top it off.

There just aint nothing like coming home and nothing like seeing the sidewalk leading to the kitchen door when I have let down the garage door and headed through the garage door. You just feel so happy.

Life is so simple here. There are always things to be done but none have a time schedule. Here at the Farm, love is everywhere....you can just feel it.

Of all the places to love, the place I love is here at the Farm. With the animals that love us and depend on us, with the birds that stop by the bird feeders, and with friends that look out for us all the time and we for them, how much better could life be?
